Semi-custom ERV with Heating & Cooling - VHC-72Much like the standard VHC series, the VHC-72 is a custom energy recovery ventilator in a light commercial, cost-effective, semi-custom wrapper. However, in addition to the all of the standard features and options of the VHC, the VHC-72 includes the following custom options:

  • 2-inch double wall, no-through-metal Integrated Thermal Break Framing™ (ITF) cabinet construction
  • High performance AHRI Standard 1060 certified enthalpy wheel
  • Venmar CES DDC controls
  • Non-integrated, or integrated air cooled or water source heat pump packages
  • Electric, hot water, hot gas re-heat, steam, indirect gas-fired optional post heating available
  • Chilled water, split direct expansion (DX) optional post conditioning available

Flexible Design

The wide flexibility inherent in the basic design of the VHC-72 makes it the sharpest tool in the shed for all your ventilation needs. The VHC-72 is available in capacities ranging from 12 to 35 tons, and while conceived as a 100% outdoor air unit, the package will allow varying amounts of outside air from a minimum of 4,000 cfm up to a maximum of 8,000 cfm to meet a wide variety of application requirements and situations.

Energy Efficient Design

All components are selected to optimize efficiency, to conserve energy and significantly reduce operating costs. The combination of the most salient energy saving features, the VHC-72 offers one of the highest combined efficiencies or application EERs available on the market when compared to other more traditional 100% outdoor air systems.

  • Optimized energy Recovery Efficiency Ratio (RER) on enthalpy energy recovery wheel, with minimum pressure drop and maximum performance
  • Minimum Outdoor Air Correction Factor (OACF) with high pressure energy recovery seal to reduce (or in some cases eliminate) unwanted additional outdoor air
  • Microchannel heat exchanger condenser coils for maximum efficiency in a compact lightweight package
  • Factory mounted VFDs as standard on supply and exhaust fans with each unit to optimize fan energy consumption
  • Optional digital scroll lead compressor provides superior part load operation (10% to 100% modulation) and eliminates the need for hot gas bypass
  • Waterside Economizer (WiSE) for free cooling and heating capabilities when available
  • Innovative Airside Economizer (AiSE) for optional energy recovery wheel bypass to avoid pressure drop, or additionally the ability to bypass the entire cooling and heating coil post conditioning assembly to maximize performance
