- What is Venmar Select™ System Requirements?

- Load Venmar Select™.
- Then at the "Open/Wizard" dialog open the "Venmar Product Catalogue".
- Now at the "Venmar Product Catalogue dialog left mouse click on "OK".
- Now left mouse click on the question mark button just below the help menu.
- At the "About "Venmar Select" dialog you will see the edition, version and build of the software you are currently running.
- How do I correct an error that states "Not compatible with product selection"?
- To correct this error, return to the "Building Selection" screen (from the "Pricing Module") and modify the option that caused the error.
- How do I revise my user preferences and what options can I control?
- To revise your user preferences, go to the "File" menu and select "User Preferences". In this dialog box you can change information relating to heating, cooling, weather, and measuring units to suit your needs.
- Can you tell me more information about the occupancy schedules?
- There are generic occupancy schedules in the software based on ASHRAE Standard 90.1. However, if you wish to develop your own, select the "View" button and save the file as desired.
- When using Venmar Select™, how do I select an aluminum core?
- Click on the "Building/Product Selection" tab from the main screen. Click on the "Options" button. Remove the checkmark in the checkbox beside the "Use Poly Core" option.
- When using Venmar Select™, how do I select a purge section?
- Click on the "Building/Product Selection" tab from the main screen. Click on the "Options" button. Put a checkmark in the checkbox beside the "Use Purge Section" option.
- When using Venmar Select™, how do I select an exhaust damper?
- Click on the "Building/Product Selection" tab from the main screen. Click on the "Options" button. Put a checkmark in the checkbox beside the "Use Exhaust Damper" option.
- When using Venmar Select™, how do I select coils for an ERV3000i/e unit?
There are two ways to select coils for an ERV3000i/e unit. Choose either method and completing both will cause problems in the pressure drop calculation.
- Add the pressure drop across the coils to the external static pressure.
- Click on the "Building/Product Selection" tab from the main screen. Put a checkmark in the checkbox beside the "Use Hot Water and Steam Heat" or "Use Dx or Chilled Water Cooling" options, followed by entering in the appropriate pressure drop.
Note: Even with a blank pressure drop field, the software program will assume a pressure drop.
- When using Venmar Select™, how do I set the outdoor air and return air conditions for an engineer's specifications?
To set Outdoor Air Specifications, click on the "Weather Location and Fuel Costs" tab from the main screen. Click on the columns under the "User-Specified" field. Set the values as required.
Note: You can switch between RH and WB for both heating and cooling values. To set Return Air Specifications, click on the "Heating/Cooling" tab from the main screen. Set the values as required.

- When using Venmar Select™, how do I enter the cooling coil specifications required?
- Click on the "Heating/Cooling" tab from the main screen. Put a checkmark in the checkbox beside the "Calculate Cooling Coil Ventilation Load" option. The software program allows you to enter the supply air condition leaving the coil and the number of rows in the coil or the coil bypass factor.
- When using Venmar Select™, why doesn't the unit I want to specify show up in the "Models Selected" list?
- The model you want to specify may not be available for a number of reasons. The unit may not be able to meet the "Application", "Weather" or "Electrical" data you have specified. For example, the unit may not be available in the voltage you selected or the type of technology (wheel, plate or heat pipe) may not be recommended for the weather location specified. The software will give you an explanation why a specific unit was not included in the list when you click on the "Reasons" button.
- When making a unit selection for a zone, why are all units not in the list?
- The software will give you an explanation why a specific unit was not included in the list when you click on the "Reasons" button.
- When using Venmar Select™, how do I select filters for a unit?
- Click on the "Building/Product Selection" tab from the main screen. Click on the "Options" button. Put a check mark in the check box beside the filter option you require.
