All air-to-air energy plate exchangers provided by Venmar CES are AHRI Certified to Standard 1060 and subsequently bear the seal for participation in the AHRI Air-to-Air Energy Recovery Ventilation Equipment Program based on AHRI Standard 1060.
Heat transfer is maximized through conduction and convection, and features optimized plate spacing, airflow patterns and the selection of substrate materials to maximize heat transfer effectiveness while minimizing pressure drop and providing the absolute best sensible Recovery Efficiency Ratio (RER) available on the market today. The Recovery Efficiency Ratio is the ratio of energy expended (including parasitic losses through the exchanger) versus the total amount of energy recovered. Sensible devices are able to withstand differential pressures up to 10-inches without deformation or damage to the device.
Furthermore, sensible plates can benefit from a number of performance enhancement strategies for enhanced dehumidification, or in conjunction with indirect and/or direct cooling strategies.
In the case of our HM cores (which stands for heat and moisture), otherwise known as membrane plates, the substrate is manufactured with a vapour-permeable material such as a micro-porous polymeric membrane. Similarly, our HM cores have a high latent energy recovery efficiency ratio. In addition, unlike other light commercial technologies, the HM cores from Venmar CES are able to withstand differential pressures up to 5-inches without deformation or damage.
Venmar CES aluminum plate exchangers are sensible only and provide the following benefits:
